For certain
skiers nothing will impact performance more than the athlete's
state of mind. An athlete's attitude will affect long-term
progress and can enhance or undermine competition. Therefore,
we find it beneficial to provide many forms of mental training.
Sports
psychology has several subdisciplines. The Rowmark program
focuses on enhancement of group unity, short and long-term
goals, psychology of motor learning, stress management,
ideomotor training, mental rehearsal of competition and ideal
competition
arousal state. Rowmark Coach Olle Larsson has a keen interest
in this field and is an active member of the World Sports
Psychology Society. He is able to share advice and information from several
internationally renowned specialists.
